Wills & Estate Planning

Celebrations of life, flowers, family gatherings, tears, meals, memorials, cards, sharing stories or memories, laughter… These all often happen after somebody passes away. But, after the extended family, friends, acquaintances, and co-workers go home, that’s when the hard part begins – the process of handling the final affairs of that person.

Whether it’s are a multi-millionaire, with multiple houses, cars, business holdings, and dozens of charities that they support, or someone with a few thousand dollars and a nice collection of action figures or Tupperware, the estate has to be processed. Include children or pets that will need cared for in the equation, and the process can become very complicated very quickly. Sadly, many long-standing family relationships – even among siblings or between kids and a surviving spouse – sometimes collapse under the weight of a difficult estate process. But, they are often the casualty of unclear estate planning, because somebody is left to make a decision with which others disagree.

Careful planning, ahead of time, can make the process relatively simple, however. So, if you want to have a say in how you (if you become incapacitated), your children and your pets are cared for, and you want to ensure that your estate faces the lowest tax liability, or that property is distributed the way you want – or if you just want to make sure that people don’t have a reason to fight with each other after you are no longer there for them – it is crucial that you document your plan and desires in a will, through a trust, and with advanced directives.

It doesn’t matter how complicated your situation is, the team at Fisher Legal Services, P.C. can help you navigate the course for your future and your estate, so that when your family is going through the process of carrying out those wishes, they don’t have to worry about how to handle anything. It will be spelled out and controlled as plainly as possible.

Family Planning

Marriage. Children. Divorce. Re-marriage. Step-children. Adoption. Even Pets…

The complexity of family planning can be overwhelming, and it’s a corollary to so much of our life. Whether you’re planning on getting married, having kids, adopting (kids OR pets), fostering, or getting a divorce, there’s a lot that should be considered before you get too far into it.

Sometimes, the question is “how?” Sometimes, it’s “when?” Still other times, it’s “what if?” Through all of that, it helps to have someone that can help you navigate those questions, and plan for every step of the way, including the steps that we might not see coming.

The most important question is “what do I want?” Once you’ve nailed that down, the rest of it becomes a lot easier.

For help with all of the questions that arise with family planning, contact Fisher Legal Services, P.C., today. We can help find the answers, and help you plan accordingly.

Business Planning

One of the things that makes me happiest is when I see someone who builds up the courage to start their own business! It’s particularly rewarding to see a business that doubles as an opportunity for family to work together to build long-term security and success for themselves.

It takes a lot to strike out on your own, be your own boss, and become completely responsible for your own success or failure. I’ve been there, and it’s not easy. Having a team in place that supports you through the process is important. Fisher Legal Services, P.C. is happy to be part of that team for you.

Whether it’s helping with business formation, tax planning, the business plan, human resource and labor issues, managing intellectual property*, or developing the contracts that you’ll need to conduct your business, we have the skills necessary to help you plot a course for your business that will help you to focus on the rewarding part – providing your products or services.

If you want to start your own business, and want someone to help you plan for success, we’re here for you!
